In The Gloaming is a lovingly restored century house nestled into the lower slopes of Kelly's Mountain, overlooking the breathtaking waters and hills of St. Ann's Bay. Situated on the Cabot Trail, the house sits in the village of Englishtown, a picturesque place with bald eagles, fishing boats, a cable ferry, and a museum honoring Angus MacAskill, the Cape Breton Giant.

Furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind, this warm, cozy house has three bedrooms (two doubles and one single) and a full bathroom upstairs.

On the first floor, there is a den/bedroom, which sleeps two, a living room, dining room, and large, fully equipped country kitchen, and a front porch with spectacular, panoramic views. Appliances include a fridge, electric stove, microwave, washer and dryer. Also included are a TV, VCR and CD/tape player. A telephone is available for local calls, with long distance calls accessed via calling card. The house is centrally heated for the convenience of late fall guests.
Cape Breton's many wonders and attractions are easily reached from this location.
  • 8 minutes to the Gaelic College of Celtic Arts and Crafts (the only one outside Scotland)
  • 20 minutes to the beautiful village of Baddeck boasting the Bell Bay Golf Links, boat cruises, fine dining and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum
  • 30 minutes to Ingonish, a resort area with salt and fresh water swimming, superb beaches, unique hiking trails and the world renowned, links-style Cape Breton Highlands golf course.
  • 1 1/2 hour drive to the Fortress of Louisbourg, an 18th century site that has been authentically restored by Parks Canada, Canada's National Park Service.
